On Sunday we left for Tokyo for a few days. It's about an eight hour drive so we usually try and stay a week so we're not spending most of our time in the car. We spent three days in Tokyo and two driving back and forth. The good thing about Tokyo is once you're there, you can park your car and just take the train everywhere. Our first day we spent in the city and the next two at Disney. We've been down there many times but still have not come close to seeing everything! It's a huge city with a lot to see.
The first place we tried to go was closed so we set off to Sensō-ji. Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple in the Asakusa area of Tokyo. It is the oldest temple in Tokyo, and it was busy! I'm sure it's hard to find a day that it's not busy.
This is the entrance, these temples are made up of several smaller buildings and usually a main hall that is huge!
Vendors line the pedestrian walkway to the main hall, lots of souvenirs and food.
5-story pagoda.
This is the main hall. Big and crowded.
More to come.
