Sand Dollar

Spring fever has hit here in Misawa, this last week was really beautiful and warmer and we wanted to get off base, so off we went to a beach known to Misawan's as Sand Dollar Beach. Boy, did it live up to its name.
Winter has been great but we're all ready for milder days to go exploring Northern Japan again.

Already?

Avie Jo lost her first tooth! Boy, does she look cute with this little gap in her mouth.
The tooth fairy was caught a little off guard as she usually is, but, Avie woke up to a shiny 500 yen coin under her pillow!

Looker

Danielle has been saying for a while that she wanted to cut her long hair short, and I was hesitant to let her but we finally got it done and she looks beautiful of course! Here's a before and after.
She chose a pretty deep a-line cut and donated her 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love.

Swim

Avie started swim, rather against her will, but she's hanging in there.
She has a sweet Japanese teacher that has her hands full with this group!
She does just fine as long as her neck up stays dry.
And Danielle made principal's list again!!! Smarty.

This Pretty Girl is 5!

My sweet Avie Jo turned 5 years old on February 26th! She has never had a birthday party before so we knew it was time to throw her the type of bash she's always wanted...a princess party!
All the princess party guests.
I don't bake, good thing the commissary here makes fabulous princess cakes.
They played "pin the kiss on the frog", among other things. It was highly entertaining.
The birthday girl, she even let me do her hair for the occasion.
There were only a few royal disagreements. I know next time to get enough princess balloons for all princesses to take one home! For her first birthday party I think it went pretty well. We're sure proud of this "big", little girl!
