Flour & Rain

I think every kid does this at some point

You just have to laugh and grab your camera, and then a broom.

We've also had a little rain, and living in Arizona, any change in weather is a welcome change. The kids and I went outside to play in it.

Some pretty big raindrops

Rain catching

Spinning

Play wrestling, which quickly turned into real fighting.

We love summer rain, I hope we get more!

Stressed?

Who could resist this face?

Or this one!

How bout this one?

On days that are especially hard I look at pictures of my kids and remind myself that it's okay to have a bad day and I am making a difference in their lives, but man, oh man how I could use a couple hours to myself...and maybe an extra couple hundred bucks to go shopping...ahhh, I'll daydream about it!

Tipsy

We just can't seem to get Avie off the bottle! Any suggestions?

HAHA, it's root beer, I swear!

Really?

So apparently The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America has deemed me qualified to teach aerobics.

Whether I am or not has yet to be seen, but I'll keep everyone updated! Wish me luck!

Lil' Rider

Check out little Danielle on the dirt bike out on the greenbelt by our house! She's much more gutsy than I ever was at that age!

She came in the house completely drenched in sweat and decided that July is far too hot to ride. She'll continue her dirt biking adventures in November!

3 Marvelous Days

We just got back from California for the long weekend and we had a ball! We we're able to catch up with some friends we haven't seen for a while and enjoy temps lower than 110.

Dan and his best bud Steve at the Santa Monica Pier. Some interesting people made their way to the pier that day, I won't elaborate, but let's say I did a lot of explaining to the kids.

Logan, Haley, Mandy, Danielle & Myself at the pier.

This was probably the highlight of the trip for me. Anyone who is an architecture fan is more than likely familiar with Greene and Greene. Well this is the Gamble House by Greene and Greene in Pasadena. Dan and I were super excited to find it, especially since we weren't actually looking for it, we just kinda ran into it. If it looks familiar, it's because it was Doc's house in the movie Back to the Future. So impressive both in picture, but especially in person!

The kids got a little cold during the fireworks, so they packed into the back of the MDX. From where we were parked we could see at least four fireworks shows going on, pretty cool.

Coral Beach Cantina in Malibu, some really yummy Mexican food. Best mole I've ever had! I know I post about food a lot, but, I'm not going to stop.

The Reel Inn in Santa Monica, it's right on the Pacific Coast Highway. I'm not a huge fan of seafood, but this place converted me! It was so fresh! If only I could make a living as a restaurant critic.

Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu

What did Avie think of her first time at the beach, you ask? We'll she moved off my lap for a couple of minutes, but this was pretty much it! She enjoyed the sand a little and wanted nothing to do with the water. She's a funny kid.

It was a hard to come back to the furnace, but it's always nice to be home. We're enjoying our summer, hope everyone else is as well.
