Sakura

The cherry blossom season is coming to an end, they are falling off the trees like leaves in fall. We saw some in Tokyo on our temple trip and when we got home from our Disney trip they had blossomed in Northern Japan as well! I kinda thought at first that they were overrated. They couldn't be as beautiful as everyone said, we get pretty blossoms in the states, right? Um, no, they are amazingly beautiful and if you ever get the chance to come to Japan during Sakura, do! Dan took a day off so we could go to Hirosaki Castle because they have so many trees there. It was AMAZING!
It is a short season to view cherry blossoms, so many were falling off the trees, but they created a giant pink moat around the ground of the castle.
Went while the big kids were in school, so just Dan and Avie and I.
I don't know if this is always the case but this year's season coincided with Golden Week for the Japanese. Golden Week is three Japanese holidays in one week, so it's super busy everywhere, parking is difficult, but it is so worth it.
Hirosaki Castle. This is the last time you can get close to it or go inside it for the next ten years, or so I've been told. They are doing a massive renovation.
The sun came out for a bit!
There is some really great food here and also just some interesting food.
The breeze would pick up and it would rain down cherry blossoms on us, it was surreal.
Beautiful.
